The importance of sustainable development in Vietnam

Sustainable development refers to the process of development which allow the country to improve its people's life , while taking in consideration the survival of its future generation. So as Vietnam creates more schools and its people become more educated and are able to get better jobs to be able to lead a better quality of life , Vietnam has to embrace sustainable development if it is to acheive its objectives.

One advantage is such a policy will benefit the whole world. If Vietnam's rivers are damaged by the use of chemicals , the rivers will carry these effluents to the sea. This is bound to have a negative effect on other water bodies. As a result , the fish in the seas will be affected.

Another reason is sustainable development will prevent unnecessary wastage of revenue and resources. Sustainable development will allow Vietnam to develop without causing much pollution. This will prevent the people from falling ill frequently. So the government need not have to spend much on healthcare. Machines may be used with advancement. These machines give off pollution and may contaminate the river and air. If the use of such machinery is controlled , again pollution levels will be low.

Any development of land is bound to lead to flooding. If Vietnam is careful , it can reduce erosion and hence , flooding. So through this policy , Vietnam can prevent heavy losses to life and property.

Another benifit is that Vietnam's present climatic conditions can be maintained. Use of methane is bad for the enviornment as it leads to global warming. So if this chemical can be avoided , the temperature can be maintained.

Clearing large plots of land for agriculture will increase the temperature. So if Vietnam takes the necessary measures to ensure these trees are replanted then the temperature will not increase greatly.

In conclusion , we believe that sustainable development will help the Vietnamese to have a good quality of live and higher standard of living without causing much damage to the enviorment.
